Use the following interactive activities to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about the area of a triangle. Students can try these activities on their own or in pairs. GoalDevelop and apply the formula for the area of triangles. Builds UponStudent Book pages156-159 Instructions for UseTriangle Explorer prompts students to investigate and calculate the area of a triangle. To use Triangle Explorer, click the "New Triangle" button. Determine the area of the triangle and input the answer into the text field. Click the "Check Answers!" button to see if the answer is correct. If students are unsure of the answer, suggest that they click the "Give Hint" button to provide help.
Area of Triangles helps students understand the formula for the area of a triangle. To use Area of Triangles, drag the pink dots to change the dimensions of the triangle. Notice the changes in perimeter and area as the dimensions change. |
