Use the following interactive games and activities to encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about square roots. Students can do these activities on their own or in pairs. To use Practice Perfect Squares, click on the number in each row that is a perfect square.
Square Roots lets students build square units to find a square root. To use Square Roots, click the "Introduction" button and drag the sliders to create rows and columns of square units. Click the "Square Roots" button and drag the sliders to show the squaring of the base. For an extension activity, click the "Sq Root Practice" button to calculate square roots. Click the "Continue" button and then click the "New Problem" button and enter the answer in the text box. An interactive power calculator will help students answer the questions. Click the "Check/Explain" button to check the answer.
Square Roots Quiz lets students find the square root of a perfect square. To take the Square Roots Quiz, find the perfect square and its matching square root and click on both squares to make a pair. Click on the "Start over" button to begin a new game. |
