Lesson 3 - Using a Database

Instructions for Use

International Database lets your child use a database to sort and locate data about world population growth.

To use International Database, select a country that you want to know the population data for. Then click the radio button beside "Summary (2000, 2025, 2050)" to see data about the current and projected population or the radio button beside "Select years" to a choose a specific year. Select the graph size that you want, and then click the "Submit Query" button. A bar graph displays the population in thousands. Click the "Extract Data from IDB Online Aggregation" button to display the data in a table.

 

Rank Countries by Population lets your child use a database to sort and locate data.

To use Rank Countries by Population, enter the year you want information for in the text box. Click the radio button to select how many countries you want to rank. Click the "Submit Query" button to display data on world population according to rank in a table.
